18 March Sculptures
Guided tour around Sofiero’s sculptures. These are bathed in an air of mythology and fantasy, in exciting contrast to the long history of the park. 3 p.m.

31 March – 20 May Momoko’s royal portraits
Momoko Takamatsu is a talented portrait artist with a particular interest in Swedish monarchs. Takamatsu paints with acrylic on wood panel, using an old grisaille technique. She works at Inuti, a studio for people with intellectual disabilities.
April
6 April – 1 May Hannu’s Spring
Hannu Sarenström is one of Sweden’s most exciting gardening inspirationalists. This spring he is filling the Orangery with a sensuous display of early woodland plants and bulbs.

1 May Spring bloom
Join Sofiero’s garden designer on a guided walk among 25,000 bulbs in glorious bloom. Get tips about new plants and spring compositions. 2 p.m.
5 May Sofiero’s Palace Shop opens for the season
The shop has a wide range of articles, from beautiful fabrics, plant pots and books to delicacies such as chocolate and jams. Read more at sofiero.se/slottsbutiken.
5 May – 30 September Sofiero for children
The princes’ and princesses’ playhouses were built more than a hundred years ago. Here you can play, plant, dress up and discover the new dragon’s fort that’s hidden in the magic forest. Everyone, including children in wheelchairs, can join in.
13 May Sofiero Classic
One of Sweden’s finest displays of classic cars. We offer an extra tribute to “the Motor Prince” Bertil who would have been 100 this year. Activities for the whole family.
17 May – 26 August Everyday Beauty – Crafts at Sofiero
The Konsthantverkarna craft association was founded in the 1950s and has made its name for its first-rate, innovative design. This summer you can see the group’s contemporary crafts in the Orangery. Everyday items, exclusive objects and conceptual crafts worked in cement, glass, ceramics, metal and textiles.
26 May – 17 June Rhododendrons in bloom
Sofiero’s sea of rhododendrons in bloom is a true sign that summer is just around the corner. Enjoy the glorious colours and scents, and stroll through flower-lined gullies and along magnificent borders. Our gardener will be happy to guide you. Gather inspiration from these glorious gardens and from royal rhododendron history.

9 June – 30 September Märta Måås-Fjetterström - The Richness of Rugs
The countryside, local textile traditions and Oriental patterns were all sources of inspiration for Märta Måås-Fjetterström. MMF was one of Sweden’s foremost textile artists and her internationally renowned rugs and textiles are the highlight in the Palace this summer. Take the chance to see the flossa rug ‘Kustlandskap’, designed by HRH Queen Margrethe of Denmark.
22 June Midsummer at Sofiero

16 - 22 July Artists' week at Sofiero
Artistic inspiration in the lush greenery of the Sofiero park. Free admission for those bringing their palette and easel.

Our garden designer talks about newcomers in the range of summer flowers and displays a border created in accordance with Crown Princess Margareta’s original design. 2 p.m.

24-26 August The Garden Festival
Sweden’s answer to the Chelsea Flower Show, The Garden Festival is one of Sweden’s major gardening events. Innovative gardening art and new trends from Berlin, London and Alnarp. Hidcote Manor Garden pays us a visit, creating a little English paradise of plants. Inspirational gardens, ideas for beginners and experts, unusual plants, flower arrangements, competitions, and a garden fair where you can buy all you need for your garden. Park closed on 23 August.

8-9 September Dog Show
Annual international dog show with displays, agility competitions and obedience tests. Organiser: South Swedish Kennel Club. Park closed on 7 September.

Metasequoias, striped maples and walnut trees stand proud among oaks and beeches. Admire the autumn colours and join our expert on a walk among Sofiero's exotic trees. 2 p.m.
